Privacy Policy

Foodn (the "App") is a meal-logging app provided by the Foodn team (the "Developer"). This page explains what information the App handles, how it is used and where it is sent. If this English version differs from the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
1. Principles
- Your records and photos are stored on your device first.
- Information is sent outside only when you use the features listed in section 3, and only what those features need.
- No ads. We do not collect information for advertising or tracking, and we do not sell it to third parties.
- The App contains no usage analytics tools.
2. Information stored on your device
- Meal records (dish name, nutrients, time, meal type, restaurant name and location, price, notes, etc.)
- Meal photos (in the App's storage; saving to your photo library depends on your settings)
- Frequent restaurants and the place remembered as home, recipes, favorites and settings
- Height, sex and birth year (if you entered them because Health doesn't have them)
Deleting the App removes this information from your device.
3. Information sent outside your device

This website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting (Google keeps access logs when you open a page). My Page reads only the signed-in user's own records from Supabase.
Information sent to Google's Gemini API is handled under the Gemini API Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Information accessed with device permissions
- Camera and photos: to take meal photos and log photos you pick from your library.
- Location: to identify the restaurant. Only if you turn on "Did you eat at this place?", location is also used in the background (whether you are at a frequent restaurant is decided on your device).
- Apple Health / Health Connect: the App writes meals, and reads weight, body fat, water intake, calories burned, height, sex, date of birth, sleep times and meals written by other apps. Health data is used on your device, for example to calculate your targets; it is never used for advertising or marketing and never shared with third parties (if a meal from another app is imported as a record and cloud sync is on, that record is synced).
- Calendar: the "location" of events around meal times is used as a hint for restaurant suggestions (on device only).
- Contacts: only when you pick who you ate with; the chosen names are added to the record.
- Notifications: for missed-meal nudges and the weekly review.
- Gmail (only if you turn on the link): read-only access to emails from specific senders (card usage notices, reservations, delivery receipts) as hints for meal records. The access token is stored on your device, and email content is never sent to the Developer's servers.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's Settings.
5. Deleting your data
Data on your device is removed when you delete the App. You can delete your account and the data stored in the cloud (records, photos, friend connections) at any time by signing in to My Page and choosing "Delete account and data".
6. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this page as features are added. Significant changes will be announced in the App or on this page.
